Despite the absence of the NBA, Nike has remodeled the LeBron 17 Low in a quintessential colorway.
Crafted with a monochromatic upper of black mesh and white leather overlays, the iteration is highlighted with “Metallic Gold” accents on the branding details. Swooshes on the panel and mudguard, the signature on the tongue and the embroidered heel logo of LeBron James. The basketball silhouette rests on a two-tone midsole and outsole that features a clear Air Max unit, tied together with white laces for a clean finish.
What sets this colourway off is the sheriff badge graphic on the insole. In early 2017, after Charles Barkley criticized James and his leadership, James ripped the hall-of-famer and called out his gambling/partying days. He concluded the interview with: “I’m tired of biting my tongue. There’s a new sheriff in town.”
